James Gillespie's High School Renewal Project Under Way

Work has started on the design phase for the renewal of James Gillespie's High School and the plans are already shaping up to be very exciting. However before work can being it must be decided where pupils displaced by the building work are to study during the construction period.

A public consultation has been launched by the City of Edinburgh Council to look at the School Community's views on the decant process.

Mike Pringle MSP worked with local councillors, the school community and the Scottish Government to secure the redevelopment of James Gillespie's and is now encouraging as many members of the school community as possible to respond to the public consultation.

Mike Pringle said

"The project is shaping up to be very exciting, however it is first vitally important to get this first phase right to ensure that displaced pupils education is unaffected.

"I encourage as many people involved in the school community as possible to respond to the public consultation regarding the decant.

"The City of Edinburgh Council is committed to the whole process running as smoothly as possible, but rely on the views of parents and other members of the school community to get it
