6.14.00am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 16th Jun 2009

Mike Pringle MSP has joined dozens of other MSPs in signing the Anne Frank declaration.

The declaration was produced to mark the 60th anniversary of the publication of Anne Frank's diary and serves as a reminder to work for what is right and stand against injustice. The declaration reads.

I declare that:-

I will stand up for what is right and speak out against what is unfair and wrong

I will try to defend those who cannot defend themselves

I will strive for a world in which our differences will make no difference - a world in which everyone is treated fairly and has an equal chance in life.

Mike Pringle said

"The courage of Anne Frank is an inspiration to us all as well as a telling reminder that all over the world millions of people are still persecuted in different ways for their nationality, race or beliefs.

"I was delighted to be able to support the Anne Frank Trust by signing the declaration.
