Aid Truck Departs for Gaza

8.15.00am GMT Sat 7th Feb 2009

Although the situation in Gaza may have slipped out of the headlines in recent days thousands of people there are still in desperate need of medical aid.

With that in mind charities Edinburgh Direct Aid and Glasgow the Caring City joined with the Scottish Parliament Cross Party Group on Palestine to organise a truck of medical supplies to be sent to Gaza.

Mike Pringle, who joined other MSPs and members of the public to see the truck off and wish the team well, said

"This aid is desperately needed and I would like to thank everyone who has made a donation or given up their time to make this happen.

"All the best to the team, this project could make all the difference to so many in Gaza."
