SNP Government failing South Edinburgh High Schools - Mackintosh

Speaking at the Liberal Democrats Autumn Conference in Bournemouth local Lib Dem Westminster Spokesperson Fred Mackintosh attacked the SNP Scottish Government for failing to deliver replacement schools for both Boroughmuir High School and James Gillespie's High School.

"Scottish Government delays are holding back replacement of schools in Edinburgh South" said Fred Mackintosh "Until the SNP realise that we need to force a change in Treasury rules on public investment and PFI their Scottish Futures Trust will just delay investment in our schools."

Fred Mackintosh was speaking in a debate where the Liberal Democrats committed to allowing the Scottish Government and local authorities to borrow on the markets in the same way as the Treasury where that is more cost effective than PFI or PPP solutions.
