The Old Burdiehouse Community Centre

The Liberal Democrat led City Council administration has signed a contract to build the Southhouse/Burdiehouse Community Centre with new contractors. Work will start in the next few weeks. In September 2007 the first contractor pulled out of the contract and the Council has re-tendered the projected.

Local Lib Dem Councillor Conor Snowden said, "This is great news for the area. Labour Councillors and MP had been telling local people that this centre might be cancelled. Nothing could be further from the truth. I am delighted that not only is this Lib Dem led administration pressing ahead with the build but we are putting more money into it to make the development possible."
